Privacy Policy for Cycle
Last updated: 13 October 2026
Cycle (“the app”) is a period tracker for Android. This policy explains what
information the app handles and what it does not do.

If you use the app, it stores the following only on that device:
- Period start dates and optional end dates
- Daily logs: flow, mood, symptoms, and notes you type
- Settings you choose: typical cycle length, period length, reminders on or off,
and app lock on or off
- An encryption key that unlocks the local database
That information is saved in an encrypted database on the phone. The key is
kept in the Android keystore on the same phone.
What we do not do
- We do not create an account.
- We do not ask for your name, email, or phone number inside the app.
- The app does not have internet permission, so it cannot send your cycle data
to us or to any server.
- We do not use analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting services.
- We do not sell or share your data.
- Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer of the database and its
key are turned off.
Permissions
- Notifications: used only to show a reminder on this phone before a predicted
period. You can turn reminders off in Settings. If you deny notification
permission, the reminder is not shown.
- Biometrics or device PIN: used only if you turn on App lock. The app does
not store your fingerprint or face. Android checks them for you.
How long data stays
Data remains on the phone until you delete logs in the app or you uninstall
the app. Uninstalling removes the app’s local storage.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13. Do not use it for a child.
Medical notice
Cycle dates, fertile windows, and ovulation dates are estimates based on what
you log. They are not medical advice, a diagnosis, or contraception.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change and the new text will
be posted at this same link.
